Climate Risk Scenario Planning

CURRENT STATE
Many airports have standalone statements and plans to prepare for climate change, and just as many have none. The Company has yet to establish which of its destinations pose the largest financial and operational disruption threat, through a framework of disruptive climate trends and forecasts. Gaining an understanding of exposure and preparedness by destination will be key for the Company in valuing the risk to crewmembers, customers, operations, and assets.

GOAL STATE
Ideally, the Company would have a weighted ranking (by a financial risk metric) of the airports (and associated authorities) we fly to most and are most vulnerable to disruptive climate change events. If time in this project allows, this list can be matched against transportation authority’s resilience plans. The match will allow us to further rank not only the most vulnerable airports but also the most vulnerable airports where our preparation engagement is most needed.

DELIVERABLES
The team would provide a list and description of the most and least prepared airports aligned with a the Company's financial metric. They would also provide high-level suggestions on which climate preparedness issues the Company should begin addressing with each airport authority, and a summary of the data/science behind those suggestions.
