C40's Climate Action Planning Resource Centre brings together a wide range
of resources and tools to support city climate planners in the process of
delivering action consistent with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
New resources and tools will be added as they become available.
In 2016, nations ratified a global agreement on climate change, the Paris Agreement, committing to ambitious efforts to keep global average temperature rise to well below 2 ̊C above pre-industrial levels, and to pursue efforts to limit temperature rise to 1.5 ̊C. The Paris Agreement also commits to increasing the resilience of countries to the impacts of climate change.
Our aim is that every city should have developed and begun implementing a climate action plan before the end of 2020, which will deliver action consistent with the objectives of the Paris Agreement – an integrated and inclusive plan that addresses the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to the impacts of climate change, and deliver wider social, environmental and economic benefits.
