The Better Mill Initiative (BMI) aims to improve the sustainability performance of wet processing in the textile supply chain in China. The program, initiated by Solidaridad and H&M, is a partnership between Solidaridad, brands and 60-75 textile wet processing mills (dyeing and laundry) in China, in the textile clusters of the Yangtze and the Pearl River Delta regions. Up until August 2014 in total 7 brands and 40 mills participate in the program. Towards the end of 2014, a third phase will start in the Pearl River Delta region.
