This report is aligned with a tool that RILA developed in 2015 called the Retail Sustainability Leadership Model. The report summarizes retailers' current progress along the Leadership Model.
New to this report is an additional element: the Retail Industry's Materiality Assessment. This assessment, developed in 2016, further helps to hone the most material issues to the industry by providing a snapshot of retailers' priorities and the priorities of relevant stakeholders to the industry.
This report was developed through an online survey disseminated in March of 2017; 31 retail companies responded, representing more than 30,000 locations and $600 billion in global revenue.
