The purpose of this working paper is to present the current gaps identified in healthcare services and facilities inside of factories in the ready-made garment (RMG) industry in Bangladesh. Basic healthcare facilities and personnel (nurse, doctor) are required by law in factories employing more than 300 workers. The findings described in this paper will inform the design of upgrading programs to build the capacity of on-site clinics and factory nurses. This is part of BSR’s “HERproject Health Systems Program” supported by UKaid, which aims to systematically bridge the gap in quality of health information, products, and access to services provided to workers in the RMG industry.
