Logistics Labor Resilience

CURRENT STATE
We experience labor shortages around key distribution centers in our logistics network, and wish to mitigate longer term labor shortages as the worker profile shifts due to automation/robotics.

GOAL STATE
We want to ensure a healthy pipeline of talent for our distribution centers by increasing the number of people with the right skill set coming out of the community, and ensuring resilience to changes in the skill mix as a result of automation/robotics.

DELIVERABLES
  • Global literature and interviews to understand successful models for community based labor partnerships

  • Assessment of specific city context - current labor conditions, community mapping and key players, community partnership models

  • Proposed strategy for building labor partnerships in specified cities that could sustainably increase the talent pool
