IPIECA’s framework for water management in onshore oil and gas activities has been developed to help the oil and gas sector respond to broader global concerns about water availability and quality to enhance the industry’s efforts to achieve sustainable water management. The framework is a cyclical process of planning, implementation, evaluation and review. It can be implemented at both corporate and operational level, over the different phases through the life of oil and gas operations, from planning to decommissioning.
