Recycling and Compostability Strategy

CURRENT STATE
Recyclability and compostability of food packaging is a complex topic fraught with misconception. While the Company strives to reduce its footprint, it lacks formalized guardrails around packaging design and composition and the underlying data to communicate the environmental impacts to our consumers/investors.

GOAL STATE

The Company will have the data to confidently explain the strategy, tradeoffs and environmental impacts behind the design and composition of their sundries (term used for all one-time use serving utensils -> i.e. jars, silverware, bags)

DELIVERABLES

  • Collect data on the end of life disposal of each of our forms of packaging and understand its recyclability/compostability

  • Quantify environmental impacts of our current and proposed packaging

  • Communication strategy to explain the rationale behind our packaging decision to consumers

  • (Bonus) - Rethink our packaging, we are looking for suggestions on how to improve the customer experience while reducing impact
